The MSME Conference 2024 was an inspiring event, bringing together entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and innovators eager to transform Nigeria’s economic landscape. One of the most exhilarating moments of the conference was the SMEDAN Pitch Competition, where passionate entrepreneurs showcased their groundbreaking ideas and solutions aimed at addressing various challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Pitch Competition serves as a platform for aspiring business owners to present their innovative concepts to a panel of esteemed judges. This year, we witnessed an incredible array of applications from over 3,000 entrepreneurs, reflecting the creativity and determination of Nigerian entrepreneurs. The competition not only offered entrepreneurs a chance to win significant funding and also provided valuable exposure and networking opportunities that will help businesses thrive.

This year’s competition was fiercely contested, and after a rigorous selection process, the winners emerged, each demonstrating exceptional potential to impact their respective industries.

The coveted first-place prize of ₦5 million went to Loom Chocolate, whose innovative solution in the confectionary industry promises to revolutionize the industry. Taking home ₦3 million as the second-place winner was Negs Honey, whose pitch focused on honey while empowering women in rural communities.

Their approach to innovation & packaging captivated the judges, leading to their well-deserved recognition. The third-place winner, Date store NG, secured ₦2 million with their compelling innovation in the sales of healthier options to sugar through dates. Their presentation highlighted a variety of products made out of dates alongside an impressive value chain.

The SMEDAN Pitch Competition is more than just a contest; it’s a celebration of innovation, resilience, and the entrepreneurial spirit that drives Nigeria’s economy. The conference attendees witnessed the power of ideas and the impact they can have on communities and industries.

As we celebrate the success of our winners, we also extend our gratitude to all the participants for their hard work and creativity. Each pitch was a testament to the potential of Nigerian entrepreneurs to create meaningful change and drive economic growth.
