The Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN, Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda has said the National School Entrepreneurship Programme, N-SEP was a strategy initiated by the Agency to catch students young towards entrepreneurship and enterprise development. This year’s edition of the National Entrepreneurship Competition  has as its theme “The imperative for Hands-On Entrepreneurship and Community Service Education in Nigeria” The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is expected to be the special guest of honour.  The event will also feature an exhibition and award ceremony.

Dr Radda  told newsmen at a press briefing heralding the 2019 National School Entrepreneurship Programme NSEP held at the SMEDAN headquarters in Abuja  that entrepreneurship development have taken a global center stage  for innovational jobs and wealth creation in developed and developing nations, adding Nigeria with her abundant human capital and natural resources cannot be seen  as lagging behind.

He said the Agency would harness and harvest entrepreneurial mindsets among pupils and students in primary and secondary schools towards self-realization and actualization for global comparative and competitiveness.

Dr. Radda noted that there must be positive synergy between the governments at all tiers, the organized private sector and non-governmental organizations directed towards responding to the challenges of youth unemployment and national development.
